Rodney Harold Fisher was born January 3, 1934 in Knoxwell, Iowa. He was electrocuted, August 1, 1973 in Leavenworth, Kansas when an antenna he was removing from the family home came into contact with a 7,200-volt power line. Police said that he and his son, Raymond, were taking down the antenna and the boy was lowering the device from the roof to his father on the ground when the top-heavy antenna swung into the primary power lines running down the alley. The antenna hit two power lines which caused the short and resulted in the electricity arcing over from one line to the other and traveling down the antenna.
He served in the US Air Force. At the time of his death he was employed as a corrections officer at the US Penitentiary. He leaves a wife Mary Lou Denney (LHS Class of 1953), a son and three daughters. He is burried at the Leavenworth National Cemetery.
