Barbara Ann Reed Lyon - LHS Class of 1950

Barbara Ann (Reed) Lyon, 73, of Raytown, Mo., passed away on Wednesday, July 5, 2006, at Research Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.
She was born on Nov. 30, 1932, to Warren and Violet Seichepine Reed in Wadsworth, Kan.
She graduated from Leavenworth High School in 1950. On Aug. 23, 1953, she married Paul C. Lyon, who preceded her in death on July 28, 1975, as did her second husband, Ray Taconi of Biloxi, Miss., whom she married in 1988.
She attended Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, and graduated with bachelor’s and master’s degrees. She also pursued a doctoral degree in psychology at the University of Nebraska, Omaha, and Tulane University. At the time of her death, she was employed by the Internal Revenue Service, Overland Park.
Survivors include three children, Malika Lyon of Lawrence, Paul Lyon of Germany and Kelly Lyon of Superior, Colo.; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Louise Lyons of Springfield, Mo., and Paula Lantz of Fresno, Calif.; and two brothers, Warren Reed Jr. of Leavenworth and Alan Reed of Albuquerque, N.M.
One sister, Lois Reed Fangohr, preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, July 10, 2006, at the First Presbyterian Church, 8301 James A Reed Road, Raytown, Mo., with visitation from noon until 1 p.m. Burial will be immediately after the service at the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
