Leigh “Teddy” Adams, 73 of El Dorado, Kansas died Tuesday at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. The Celebration of her life will be held at 10 a.m. Friday October 26, 2007 at Trinity Episcopal Church. Her family will receive friends at the El Dorado Country Club immediately following services at the church.
Teddy was born March 26, 1934 in Leavenworth, Kansas the daughter of Charles “Ted” E. Gordon, Sr.(LHS Class of 1924) and Mary Lillian Reubelt. She attended schools in Leavenworth and graduated with the Class of 1952. She attended Kansas State University where she met and married Eugene “Gene” Adams on August 23, 1953. After her husband graduated from college he joined the U.S. Air Force. She followed her husband while he was in service. They moved to El Dorado after his discharge from McConnell Air Force Base. She was a former co-owner of El Dorado Travel Agency.
Teddy was a faithful member of Trinity Episcopal Church and E.C.W., Alpha Xi Delta, P.E.O., the Booklovers Club, the Luncheon Club, and several card clubs. She loved to travel, cook and be with her kids and grandkids.
Surviving family include her husband, Gene of the home; two sons, Steve and wife Lisa Adams of Lenexa, Kansas, David E. and wife Sandra Adams of El Dorado; daughter Judy Adams of El Dorado; brother Charles E. Gordon, Jr.(LHS Class of 1965) of Merriam, Kansas; grandchildren, Sarah Marie and Timothy Paul Adams, Alicia Leigh and husband Michael Knipp and Kelli Rene Adams. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Sandra Leigh and Susan Lynn Adams.
