She was born Feb. 12, 1939 at Fort Leavenworth, KS. daughter of Army Sgt retired August and Augusta Schmitz Anthony. On June 30, 1956 she married William J. Kensbock (LHS Class of 1953) at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Bill preceded her in death June 17, 1998.
Bill and Marilyn lived in Germany 1957-59 while Bill served in the Army. Upon Bill's discharge, they made their home in Leavenworth and had lived there since 1960.
Marilyn was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, The Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary, VFW Ladies Auxiliary and The American Legion Auxiliary. She retired from JC Penney's. She loved flowers and animals.
She is survived by her sister Charmaine C. Olson of Topeka, 2 nephews and their wives; Jack and Mary Wenzel Woods, Lansing and Morris and Cathy Wenzel Woods of Omaha, NE and many great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday August 18, 2009 at the Davis Funeral Chapel. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00am Wednesday August 19, 2009 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to American Lung Association or St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
