Sonny Bietka - LHS Class of 1953

Vincent J. “Sonny” Bietka, 74 of Topeka, formerly of Easton, Kansas died February 4th, 2010.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, February 9th, 2010 at Belden- Larkin Funeral Home with Father Mark Goldasich of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Tonganoxie officiating.
Visitation with the family present will be one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
Vince was born August 26th, 1935 in Leavenworth, Kansas the son of Vincent and Jessie (Bolewski) Bietka
He attended St. Casimir Elementary School, and graduated from Leavenworth High School in 1953.
Following graduation he joined the US Air Force, serving in the Vietnam Conflict. He retired from the military in 1982. He then worked for the Hallmark Company and University of St. Mary.
He is survived by his wife Rose, one son; Robert Bietka of Leawood, Kansas, two daughters; Susan Wagner and her husband Tim of Tonganoxie, Kansas, Linda Jackson and her husband Ryan of Topeka, Kansas, his mother; Jessie Bietka of Leavenworth, one brother Gary Bietka and his wife Rebecca of Leavenworth, a sister; Judy Person and her husband Wayne of Portland, Oregon, one grandson, Brody Jackson, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and one son, James Bietka.
Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Lansing, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be sent to Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Tonganoxie, Kansas.
