Dwain Scott

Lt. Col. Dwain Lewis Scott, 85 of Leavenworth, a former Military Officer and School Librarian, passed away at his residence Monday, February 14, 2011. 
Funeral Services will be 12:30 PM, Thursday, February 17th, 2011 at Belden Larkin Funeral Home. 
Visitation will be from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Wednesday, February 16th, 2011 with the family present from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and Rosary at 7:00 PM at the funeral home. 
Burial with full military honors will be 1:30 PM, Thursday at Leavenworth National Cemetery. 
Dwain was born April 28th, 1925 in Norfolk, Nebraska the son of Rose Lee and Clair E. Scott. He entered the United States Army in 1942, fought in WW II and the Korean War and Retired a Lt. Col. In 1968. He was a librarian at the Leavenworth Senior High School from 1972 until his retirement in 1990. 
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Ann Scard Scott who died in 1985, and a Brother Raymond Scott who died in 1986. 
He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Leavenworth. 
Survivors include his wife, Catherine Wagle Scott (LHS Class of 1949) of the home, a son Thomas Lee Scott and his wife Nancy, of Columbus, Indiana; four daughters, Pamela Matzeder of Leavenworth, Deborah Ann Scott of Castle Rock, Colorado, Judith Marie Dehr of Louisville, KY., Barbara Jean Galliart and her husband Roland of Leavenworth,; three stepsons; Jerry Barnes and his wife Connie, Rodney Barnes and Keith Barnes and his wife Sue, all of Leavenworth, Kansas; 18 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. 
Memorials in his name may be directed to Wounded Warriors or St. Luke’s Hospice.
