Fredine Allen age 73, died at St John Hospital on Tuesday March 26, 2012, surrounded by family and friends.
Fredine was born June 26, 1938, in Leavenworth, Kansas to Fred and Eletha Walton. She attended Sumner Elementary School then graduated from Leavenworth High School in 1956. Fredine retired from the Leavenworth County Infirmary after 26 years of service then provided private care to families for several years. Fredine was a lifelong member of Sunflower Missionary Baptist Church where she sang in the Senior Choir.
She was preceded in death by her father, two special nephews Calvin and Keith Walton and stepson Henry Lay. Fredine is survived by her son Orlando Allen, Leavenworth, several step children whom she loved as her own, her mother, Eletha Wilson (LHS Class of 1932) of Leavenworth, twin sister Nadine Solombrino (LHS Class of 1956) of Leavenworth and youngest sister Shirley Miller (LHS Class of 1958) of Lansing, special nieces/nephew that she loved as her children Nathalie, Dwayne, Portland, DuQuan and Tamiel, a special friend Hubert Douglass and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Memorial services for Fredine Allen will be held at 11a.m. Saturday March 31st, at Sunflower Missionary Baptist Church, 1708 5th Ave, Leavenworth, Kansas 66048. Rev. Daniel L Freeman I, pastor, will officiate.
