Bob Nichols - LHS Class of 1952

Robert LeGore Nichols, Sr., 78, of Grandview, MO passed away July 1, 2012 at home. Visitation 6-7 pm, memorial service following at 7:00 pm, Tuesday, July 10 at McGilley & George Funeral Home in Grandview. Inurnment in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville at a later date. Contributions suggested to KC Hospice. 
Bob was born July 16, 1933 in Leavenworth, KS to Goodsel and Nelly Brandow Nichols. He married Mary Jo Ligenza on July 23, 1955. They moved to El Paso, TX shortly after where Bob was stationed in the U.S. Air Force. He made a career as an Air Craft Mechanic. They had their first child, Theresa Rene April 25, 1956 and a son, Robert Jr. September 2, 1959. 
Preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jo on November 23, 2010 and brothers, Charles (LHS Class of 1938) and Benjamin (LHS Class of 1944).
Survived by daughter Theresa Ross and husband Steve, Land of Lakes, WI; son, Robert Jr. and wife Tracey, granddaughters, Courtney and Christin, Raymore, MO; sister in law Cynthia Henry; nephew Brian Stephens; Bob's two cats Rocky and Flower. Mary Jo Ligenza Nichols, age 73 beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away November 23, 2010 at home in Grandview, MO from a long illness.  Visitation 1-2 PM and Memorial Service following at 2:00 PM Monday, November 29 at 12913 Grandview Rd, Grandview, MO.  Inurnment in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery Higginsville, MO at a later date.  Contributions suggested to Crossroads Hospice.Mary Jo was born June 13, 1937 to Emil and Lillian Law Ligenza in Leavenworth, KS.  She married Robert Nichols, Sr. (LHS Class of 1952) on July 23, 1955.  They moved to El Paso, TX shortly after where Robert was stationed in the U.S. Air Force.  She gave birth to her first child, Theresa Rene April 25, 1956 and son, Robert Jr. September 2, 1959.  Mary Jo formerly worked for Fritz Reality in Grandview. She is survived by her husband, Robert of the home; daughter, Theresa Ross and husband, Steve Boulder Jct.
