Rena Elliott Wright - LHS Class of 1949

Lorena May Wright, 81, of Leavenworth, passed away at her home, Friday, June 14, 2013, surrounded by her sisters, Nora Bietka and Sue Adams (LHS Class of 1960), and all of her loving family and friends. She was born August 15, 1931, the daughter of Verle and Helen (Collins) Elliott. 
 
Rena was able to live a long rich life with the loving help and support of her grandsons, Brandon and Jacob, and the dedicated support of St. Luke's Hospice staff. 
 
She is survived by a son, Randy Wright; two daughters, Lisa (Dennis) Powers of Platte City, Mo., and Monica ( Bill) Wetzel of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; six grandchildren, Brandon Wright, Jacob Last, Bradley Last, Jennifer Neumann, Melissa Powers-White, and Jennifer Last; 5 great-grandchildren, Nicholas Liebig, Christian Last, Benjamin Neumann, Nathan Last, and Marissa White.
Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 17, 2013, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. Family and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home at 9 a.m. Tuesday, for a final viewing and procession to Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery. A graveside service will begin at 10 a.m. at the cemetery. Following the graveside service, refreshments will be served at June's Cottage. Memorials are suggested to St. Luke's Hospice.
