Peggy Laurene Burnett Dedmon Lundgren died Monday, May 26, 2014, at a Virginia Beach, Virginia, care facility.
She was born on August 30, 1935, in Leavenworth Kansas, the daughter of Loren and Alma Burnett.
Laurie graduated from Leavenworth High School in 1953.
She married Dwayne Dedmon in 1955 and they were later divorced. She married Leonard Lundgren in 1979 and Laurie and Lennie enjoyed many happy years in Baltimore, Maryland, and later as full-time RVers.
Laurie was a professional musician, appearing in clubs in Kansas City, Washington, DC, Baltimore and on the Port Welcome in Baltimore's Inner Harbor. After her retirement she was a regular on the RV circuit as "Laurie at the Keyboards". She was well known for her keyboard talent, her husky voice and her risqué monologues.
Laurie was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, and her brother, Charles Burnett (LHS Class of 1951).
She is survived by her children, Valerie Van Daniker of Chicago, Jay Dedmon of San Francisco, and Denise Dedmon of Baltimore, and her grandchildren, Emily VanDaniker, Tommy Van Daniker and Ricky Dedmon and one step-granddaughter, Corinne Goddard. She is also survived by her sister, Linda Burnett Martin (LHS Class of 1962) of Leavenworth.
As Laurie requested, no services will be held.
