Bob Goodin

Robert D. "Bob" Goodin Sr, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2014. 
Bob was born November 30, 1934 in Platte City, Missouri to Joseph W. Goodin and Elva B. Goodin. After graduating from high school in Platte City and attending college at Central Missouri State College he relocated to Leavenworth where he met and married his beloved companion, Judy Clark (LHS Class of 1956), who preceded him in death. 
Bob was active in community and state affairs and served on the Leavenworth County Planning Commission, Leavenworth City Planning Commission, Leavenworth Airport Commission, Kansas State University Presidents Club and the Governors Advisory Committee for Statewide Building Codes.  He served as well as Vice President and Director of the Chamber of Commerce, Director of the First National Bank and Trust, and Director of the Leavenworth Country Club. 
In addition to his civic duties, Bob was a world traveler and an avid hunter.  He raised and exhibited dogs throughout the United States. He served in many dog related positions including, President of the Saint Bernard Club of Greater Kansas City, President of the Chinese Shar-Pei Club of Greater Kansas City, Director of Animal Haven, President of the American Pointer Club, Canine Health Foundation Presidents Council, delegate to the American Kennel Club and trustee of the Mel Schlessinger and Paul Kean Memorial Trusts. At the time of his death Bob was president of the Heart of America Kennel Club, a position he has held for numerous years. He was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. 
Bob is loved and respected by his friends, coworkers and family. He will be missed. He is survived by his sons Robert D. Goodin, Jr. and James W. Goodin and his wife Angie, his daughters Becky Goodin Donnelson and Julie Goodin Litwhiler and eleven grandchildren. 
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at 10 AM in St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Lukes Heart Institute, Kansas State School of Veterninary Medicine or St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.
