Kenneth Joseph Fraser Sr., 82, of Leavenworth, died Friday, Aug. 14, 2015, at his home.
He was born March 16, 1933, in Leavenworth, the son of Henry J. and Clare (Miller) Fraser.
Ken graduated from Immaculata High School in 1951. After graduation he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On July 21, 1953, he married Ruth E. Huycke in Lansing. She survives of the home.
He is also survived by his children, Michael H. (Cynthia) Fraser of Leavenworth, William C. Fraser of Lansing and Lisa C. Fraser of Leavenworth; his grandchildren, Stephanie, Jeffrey and Ashley; his great grandchildren, Brandon and Zoey; and a brother, Robert Fraser (IMAC Class of 1946) all of Leavenworth.
He was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth J. Fraser Jr. on March 31, 2008; a brother, Donald Fraser (IMAC Class of 1949) and a sister, Rose Marie DiJoseph (IMAC Class of 1954).
Ken worked for and retired from the Federal Bureau of Prisons where he was a Superintendent of Industries when he retired, with 25 years of service.
He was a very active member of Immaculate Conception Church. He was also a member of the Federal Prison Retirees Association, NARFE and AARP.
Visitation beginning with praying the rosary will be from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, 2015, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Church with Rev. David McEvoy, O.Carm., as celebrant. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to Immaculate Conception Church.
