Gary Martin Woodward, 82 of Leavenworth, passed away Saturday, Oct. 31, 2015, at St. Luke’s in Kansas City, Mo. He was born March 16, 1933, in Liberal, Kan., the son of C.M. and Lorraine (Hazel) Woodward.
Gary served in the U.S. Army. After discharge, he married Mary Lou Babski (LHS Class of 1953), on Nov. 1, 1955, in Nebraska. She survives of the home. He is also survived by his children, Terry M. Woodward, Gary Douglas(Deana) Woodward, Steven T. (Sheila) Woodward and Megan L. (Brian Higgins) Woodward; his grandchildren, Jason (Jessica) Woodward, Kelly (Chris) Ohlstein, Charlene Henshaw and Desma Henshaw; and his great-grandchildren, Shelby, Declyn and Leland.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Diane.
Gary retired from the TWA overhaul base in Kansas City. He was a charter member of the Cody Choraliers Barbershop Choirs and was also a member of the Heartland Harmony Quartet. Gary was a member of the Leavenworth Lions Club.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Cremation will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Trinity United Methodist Church.
