Betty Peters Voelker - LHS Class of 1951

Betty J. Voelker, 83, passed away September 19, 2016 at Carson Tahoe Regional Media Center, Carson City, Nevada.
Betty was born January 10, 1933 in Leavenworth, Kansas, the daughter of Wallace and Grace Peters. She graduated from Leavenworth High School in 1951 and in 1954 married Loren J. Voelker in Leavenworth.
Betty worked as a medical secretary at the VA Center in Wadsworth, Kansas from 1952 to 1954. She also worked for Livermore High School in Livermore, California as a teacher’s aide from 1976 to 1982. She retired from Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in October 1993 where she had worked as an administrative assistant since 1982.
Loren and Betty moved from Northern California to Minden, Nevada  in 1995.
Betty was a member of the St. Gall's Parish in Gardnerville, Nevada. She enjoyed swimming, golf, traveling, and family functions.
She is preceded in death by her daughter Debra Voelker (deceased 2002).
Betty is survived by husband Loren; five sons, Keith and Kevin (twins), Mark, Matthew and David; eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Burial will be at St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery in Livermore, California.
