Larry Matzeder - IMAC Class of 1957

Lawrence “Larry” E. Matzeder, Leavenworth, passed away Sunday, September 18, 2016 at his home. He was born September 25, 1939 to Edward and Rosemary Matzeder. 
Larry was a 1957 graduate of Immaculata High School.  On July 13, 1963 he married Shirley Loar (LHS Class of 1962). 
His employment over the years were with South Side Market, Guys Foods Inc., Bordens, and Williams Foods. He served on the Ritual Team for the Eagles EERIE #55, was President of the Leavenworth Bowling Association for many years, and served on the Police Awards and the Veterans Day Parade Committee for many years. 
Larry is survived by his wife, Shirley, a son, Steven Matzeder (Theresa) and granddaughters; Katherine and Mary, Las Vegas, NV, four brothers; Bernard (Jerry), Ronald (Ethel), Roger, of Leavenworth, Terry, Independence, MO and a sister Linda Philpot, Overland Park, KS. His parents and two brothers, Richard and Robert preceded him in death. 
Visitation will be 5 to 8 PM, Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at Davis Funeral Chapel. Graveside service will be 10 AM, Thursday, September 22, 2016 at Mount Muncie Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Hospice Partners of Kansas or Leavenworth County Humane Society.
