Ross O. Shenkner, 82 of Beverly, MO passed away Friday, June 30, 2017 at the Hillview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Platte City, MO.
Ross was born June 6, 1935 in Weston, MO to Jacquemin and Reta Belle (Ross) Shenkner.
He was a graduate of the Weston High School, and served his country in the U.S. National Guard.
Ross married Betty June Potter on March 19, 1955 in Beverly.
Over the years, he worked for various companies in the area, including: operating a forklift for American Can Co., Platte County Road District, and Appleton Papers.
Ross also was a tobacco farmer and owner/operator of Ross’ Drive-In restaurant in Weston.
He was an active member of the Weston Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M. #53 of Weston, and the Moila Shriners. His passion was cooking for his friends, family, and various groups in the Weston area.
Ross was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by: his wife Betty; his son Bill; 2 grandsons William “Billy” (Kari) Shenkner, and James (Andy) Shenkner; 2 great granddaughters Carsyn Reece Shenkner and Belle Shenkner; 1 great grandson Waylon Gerdes; his brother Jack Shenkner of Edmond, OK; his sister Ann Neimann of Trimble, MO; and several nieces and nephews.
Following cremation, a visitation will be held 6:00 – 7:00 p.m., Friday, July 7, 2017 at Vaughn Funeral Home in Weston, followed by a 7:00 p.m. memorial service with Masonic services, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be given to Shriner’s Hospitals for Children.
