Carl Edward Kendall Sr., 82, Marshall, Missouri passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2020. Carl was born in St. Joseph, Missouri on Monday, Feb. 15, 1937 to Nellie and Emil Kendall. Carl was one of 11 children.
He attended Platte City High School.
Carl Edward Kendall Sr. married Linda Joyce Riegert on April 17, 1961. Together they had four children, Carl Edward Kendall Jr, Donald Wayne Kendall Sr., Mark Allan Kendall Sr. and Danny Ray Kendall.
A proud United States Army Veteran, who served in Vietnam, Japan, Korea, Okinawa and Germany from 1956-1972 following an honorable discharged in 1972. Carl then became a Carpenter and retired from KU Medical Center in Kansas.
Carl loved his wife, Linda, with his whole heart and cherished her every single day. He cherished his boys, all four of them. Carl adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved each and every one of his family members unconditionally, without holding back. His hobbies included hunting, Morel mushroom hunting, wood working and fishing.
Surviving and left to proudly honor Carl’s life are, his wife, Linda Joyce Kendall and all four of his children, Carl (Pam), Marshall, Missouri, Donny Sr., Port Richey, Florida, Mark (Amanda), Land O’ Lakes, Florida, and Danny (Patty), New Port Richey, Florida; his grandchildren, Donald Kendall Jr., Ashley Dupre (Dillon), Courtney, Brandon, Joshua, Matthew, Jordan, Gunnar, Madison, Tanner and Mark Jr.; his brothers, Robert (Evelyn), Harold (Lillian), and his sisters, Roberta Kendall and Thelma Queen (Glen). Carl and Linda also have 14 great-grandchildren.
Carl was predeceased by his father and mother, Emil Louie Kendall Sr. and Nellie Louisa (Wilson) Kendall, his sister, Mary Pearl Kendall and four of his brothers, Jerry Wayne Kendall, Earl Dwight Kendall, Jervey Allan Kendall, and Emil Louie Kendall Jr.
Visitation will be held at Davis Funeral Chapel, 531 Shawnee Street, Leavenworth, Kansas, Thursday, Feb. 13, 2020 from 2 to 4 p.m. Funeral service will follow at 4 p.m.
Burial services will be held Friday, Feb. 14, 2020 beginning at the funeral home for the procession lineup at 8 a.m., then proceeding to the Leavenworth National Cemetery, 150 Muncie Rd, Leavenworth, Kansas, where services will continue at 9 a.m.
