Shirley Haddock Ruby - LHS Class of 1955

Shirley Mae Ruby, 83, passed away Feb. 4, 2021, at Medicalodge of Leavenworth, Kansas.
She was born in Leavenworth, on Sept. 8, 1937. 
Shirley attended Leavenworth High School and worked in food service for many years. She worked at the Corner Pharmacy, Delaware Deli, the VA and then back at Delaware Deli. 
She loved spending time and caring for her grandchildren. She was a member of LAWS, enjoyed her flower gardens, sewing and caring for her pets and stray animals.
Shirley was married to James J. Ruby on July 30, 1955. They were married 65 years.
She is survived by her spouse, and her children, Kathy M. Fry, James Ruby, William Ruby, all of Leavenworth, Robert (Nancy) Ruby, Colorado, and Sandra Davidson, Oregon. Grandchildren are Julie (Robbie) Boatright, Jason Timon, Donald (Mandy) Timon, Jennifer (Kode) Pacha, Rebecca (Jason) Wolters, Angela (Joshua) Loyd, Daniel (Kaci) Ruby, Hillary Lusebrink, and Dillon Davidson. She has 25 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, John, Milton (LHS Class of 1969), Clarence and Bernard Haddock, and two grandchildren, Christopher Ruby and Jessica Wilkens.
A visitation will be Sunday, Feb. 14, 2021, from 2-4 p.m. at Belden-Larkin Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Monday, Feb. 15, 2021, at Belden-Larkin Funeral Home at 10 a.m. Burial at 11 a.m. will be at Leavenworth National Cemetery.
Due to COVID-19, masks and social distancing will be required and encouraged.
