Bud was born on November 8, 1931 to Louis and Bessie (Anslinger) Kreutzer, in St. Joseph, Missouri. He was born into the family of God by baptism at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Leavenworth, Kansas. He was married to Margaret Ann Moore on April 24th, 1960 at the First United Methodist Church of Leavenworth by Rev. Grant Krueckeberg (the former pastor at St. Paul).
Bud and Margaret had two children, Dee Ann Kreutzer of Clovis, New Mexico and Douglas Kreutzer of Leavenworth. Doug and his wife Anne have three children, Samuel, Emma and Lucy, Bud’s grandchildren.
Bud was an elder in St. Paul Lutheran Church for many years and more recently attended Trinity Lutheran Church. He was an Army veteran, having been drafted and served faithfully during the Korean War. After 20 years with Missouri Valley Steel, he joined the Engineering Department at Fort Leavenworth in 1964. He happily retired after 40 years of government service to spend time with his wife and family. His was a life lived in service of others, his family, his community, his country. All who knew him appreciated his generosity, kindness and humor. He will be greatly missed.
Bud was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Margaret (Moore) Kreutzer, his parents, and his two sisters, Darlene Singleton and Donna Phillips (LHS Class of 1952).
