She graduated from Leavenworth High School in 1956. On June 9, 1957 Marilyn married Bill J. Vance in Leavenworth, Kansas.
She worked as a Home Day Care Provider and resided in Leavenworth for most of her life and was a member of the First Christian Church.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Bill J. Vance and siblings,
Marvin F. Light, Jr., Melvin Light, and Marjorie Wood Light.
She is survived by her children, Kelly E Vance, of Waukesha, Wisconsin,
Mark A. Vance, of Kansas City, Kansas, and Michelle A Vance Taylor,
of Leavenworth, Kansas, grandchildren, Derek A Vance, of Shawnee,
Kansas, Blaine R. Vance of Overland Park, Kansas, LeAnn M. Vance, of
Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Christopher M. Vance, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin,
2 step-siblings, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held at the Davis Funeral Chapel on Sunday, May 7, 2023 from
4 P.M. to 7 P.M. Funeral Services will be held at Davis Funeral Chapel
on Monday May 8, 2023 at 10 A.M. officiated by Rev. Cape Rust. Burial
will follow at Mount Muncie Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to L.A.W.S, Hope Animal Shelter, or Alzheimer's Association.
