Bruce T. Sparks Jr., 79, of Leavenworth, died, Friday, April 7, 2017, at St. John Hospital. He was born Aug. 25, 1937, in Leavenworth, the son of Bruce T. and Esther (Wandmaker) Sparks Sr.
On July 22, 1960, Bruce married Darlene M. Gambill, she survives at the home. He is also survived by three sons, Tom (Ellen) Sparks of Lansing, Kansas, Tim (Connie) Sparks of Clarksville, Tennessee and Terry (Tracie) Sparks of Savannah, Georgia; a daughter, Missy (Mike) Beach of Oskaloosa, Kansas; two brothers, Paul Sparks and John Sparks; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Donna Sparks; and a brother, Gary Sparks.
Bruce worked for Hallmark Cards for 36 years. He was a member of the Henry Leavenworth Antique Car Club and he loved fishing.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.
