John Bollin

John J. “Bud” Bollin, Jr., 87, passed away Friday, August 25, 2017 at the St. Luke’s Hospice House in Kansas City, MO. John was born August 15, 1930 in Leavenworth, KS to John Joseph Bollin, Sr. and Helen Caroline (Leibach) Bollin. He was a lifelong resident of the Leavenworth and Weston areas.
John married Anne Louise Grape (LHS Class of 1958) on August 3, 1963 at St. Joseph’s Church in Leavenworth.
He was a farmer, raising corn and soybeans on the family farm north of Kickapoo. Later in life, he helped his wife in their family store in Weston, MO. 
For many years John and his wife enjoyed riverboat casinos, travelling to Las Vegas and buying trips for their store. 
He was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Weston, the Eagles Lodge and was a major supporter of L&L kids wrestling in Leavenworth. John was an avid outdoorsman and supporter of Duck’s Unlimited. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spent many family vacations camping in Wyoming and Minnesota. 
John was preceded in death by: his parents; and a sister Coelesta Mika. He is survived by: his wife Anne of the home; his children John (Michelle) Bollin III of Leavenworth, Cathi (Sean) O’Malley of Weston, Chris Bollin of Atchison Co., KS, Patty Fuller of Weston, and Mike (Julie) Bollin of Columbus, KS; his grandchildren Melissa (Curtis) Bew, Austin Blair, Bri Fuller, Haley Fuller, Quinn O’Malley, Jacob Shipman, and Jack Bollin; his great grandchildren Lillian and Abigail Bew; his siblings Jerome (Rose Hensley - LHS Class of 1955) Bollin of Leavenworth, Mary (Jerry) Stoetzer of K.C., MO, and Nan (Harry) Stein of Melbourne, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. 
A visitation and funeral will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Weston, MO. Visitation, 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 30, 2017, with a 6:30 p.m. Rosary service, Funeral services, 10:30 a.m., Thursday, August 31, 2017. Interment will follow in the Kickapoo Cemetery in Leavenworth, KS. 
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be given to: Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
