On October 2, 2017, Roger Richard Beauchamp, 78, left this world doing what he enjoyed most - mowing someone's yard. His other most favorite thing was making his wife of 26 years, Christine (married Oct. 12, 1991) laugh. He was so wonderful at that.
Born September 15, 1939, Roger grew up in Beverly and Weston, Mo. with his parents (Chester "Jocko" Horseman, stepdad and Grace Oliver Horseman, both deceased), sisters Sharon (Ollie Layton, both deceased), Janet Lynn (Fourhorn), cousins Larry (deceased), Kenneth and Doug Beauchamp. And of course, numerous friends.
After graduating from West Platte High School, Roger "Fuzzy" Beauchamp went out into the adult world and along came children. Tina, married to Robert Bollin; Tom Kusler, married to Latisha; and Robert Kusler. Stepdaughter Dawn, married to John Hulce came into Roger's life when he married her mother Christine.
Then, Roger and Christine were blessed with grandchildren. Nicholas Bollin (with girlfriend Alyssa Davis), Kaitlyn Hulce (deceased), Bailey Hulce and Emily Hulce. Of course, life goes on. They were blessed with great grandchildren! Na'kai Bollin and Na'Laylah Bollin. He was extremely proud of his family and had a treasure trove of friends, especially his Breakfast Buddies. Thank you to all who considered Roger family and friend.
Roger also had a great love of tractors. Every year he went to the Tractor Show in Ottawa, Ks and just had a good ole time.
Visitation and Memorial will be held on Sunday, Oct. 29, 2017 from 1pm to 5pm at the Riverfront Community Center in Leavenworth, Ks. Please bring your favorite stories and best memories to share.
