Andrew Hubert McRoy Jr. was born May 6, 1929 in Leavenworth, Kansas. He went to rest December 3, 2017 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Andy's military career was vast and included the Korean and Vietnam wars. He received the Purple heart and various other awards during his years in the Army. He met and married Marguerite Derritt (LHS Class of 1959) during his military service.
Survivors include, his wife, Marguerite, his son, Larry Brown, Zephyrhills, Florida, his daughters, Annette McRoy, and Anita McRoy of Lincoln, Nebraska, Marilyn and husband, Rev. Arie Leon Mangrum III, Edgewood, MD, Carolyn Murry, Cantonville, MD, his sister, Carol Ann Bolden, Leavenworth, Kansas, brothers, Arthur E. McRoy, Richmond, Indiana, and Claude D. McRoy, Topeka, Kansas. Other survivors include a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.,
Andy was preceded in death by his father, Andrew H. McRoy Sr. and mother, Minerva L. McRoy, his sister, Charlotte E. Bates, his brother, Don T. McRoy. Visitation at Angelus Funeral Chapel on Thursday, December 14, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 15, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Angelus Funeral Chapel, located at 1104 S. Circle Drive, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Interment will be at Fort Logan Nation Cemetery, Staging area B, in Denver, on Monday, December 18, 2017 at 11:30 a.m.
