Joan Kenny Seymour - LHS Class of 1951

Joan Marie Seymour, 84 years of age, passed from this life on Friday, March 16, 2018. She was born on June 25, 1933 in Leavenworth, Kansas to John Kenny and Emeretta (Hallaux) Kenny.
On August 21, 1955 Joan married the love of her life Walter “Wayne” Seymour and to this union three children were born.
Joan was a devoted homemaker to her husband and children.
She is survived by her husband: Wayne; children; Kenny (Diane) Seymour, Douglas (Jan) Seymour, Vicky (Lloyd) Jarvis; 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Joan was a tremendous sports fan, she enjoyed softball, bowling, golfing, and had a love for college basketball, especially her Kansas Jayhawks. She was a kind, gentle, and generous mom and grandma that loved visiting with her grandkids and great-grandkids.
She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM at Walnut Lawn Funeral Home Chapel, Springfield, Missouri, Wednesday, March 21, 2018. Committal service will follow at 11:00 AM at Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
