Bill served his country with the U.S. Air Force which lead the way for his employment with the F.A.A. as an Air Traffic Controller at the Aurora Center for many years. He was a long-time member of Westminster Presbyterian Church of Aurora, where he served as a Deacon and Elder. Bill was also very involved in Scouting, officiating and other community activities. He was also a life-long East Aurora Tomcat supporter.
Bill is survived by his loving wife Dorothy McCormack of Aurora; his children, Patrick (Briget) McCormack of Plano, IL, Janet (John) Avendano of Bourbonnais, IL and Michael (Karen) McCormack of Peoria, IL; and his sister Linda Burkhead (LHS Class of 1969); also his ten grandchildren; Paul (Deanna) Potts, Shawn McCormack, Samuel McCormack, Michael Avendano, Nikki Avendano, Marissa Avendano, Jeff (Kim) McCormack, Shauna McCormack, Kelly McCormack, and Kacey McCormack; five great grandchildren; Lake McCormack, Summer McCormack, Anthony (Peaches) McCormack, Zachary Larson, Mickey Larson; one great-great grandchild; Hazel McCormack along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Kreutzer (LHS Class of 1956).
Visitation will be held Friday June 1, 2018 from 4-8 p.m. at The Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Pl., Aurora, IL 60506. Funeral services will be held Saturday June 2, 2018 beginning at 10:30 a.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 10 N. Edgelawn Dr., Aurora, IL 60506 with a luncheon to follow. Interment will be private.
