As a young man Davis had the Hobby Shop which he operated on Shawnee Street.  He had a great love for model railroading as a hobby and from that came the opening of Dad's Toys and Trains in downtown Leavenworth. He enjoyed going to train shows, flea markets, antique shows and swap meets.
