Mr. Raymond G. Sinder, 71, of Whitney, Texas, passed away April 14, 2007, at his residence.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 19, 2007, at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Whitney, Texas.
Mr. Sinder was born Sept. 1, 1935, in St. Peter, Minn., to Raymond A. Sinder and Louella Burns.
Ray was most active in the Lutheran church, where he served in many capacities throughout his life to include president of the congregation, treasurer, elder and chairman of the elders.
He grew with God as he aged in life, touching those who knew him with grace, love and compassion that God had touched him with.
He received an associate’s degree in business and was regional sales manager for a farm machinery company.
He was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the U.S. Navy from Nov. 15, 1954, until Oct. 13, 1956.
He married Judith Katherine Schmidt on Dec. 25, 1958, in Leavenworth, and had been a resident of Whitney for the past three years.
Mr. Sinder is survived by his wife, Judith of Whitney; his children, Bradley J. Sinder of Indianapolis, Ind., Gregory P. Sinder of Theresa, N.Y., Terry R. Sinder of Oklahoma City, Stacey L. (Rial) Sinder of Austin, Texas, and Amy Elizabeth Sinder-Benitez of Houston; a sister, Gail Ann Leavitt (LHS Class of 1962) of Leavenworth; 10 grandchildren; a niece, Kim Leavitt; a nephew, Jason Leavitt; and cousins, Robert and Michael Burns.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society or Our Savior Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 917, Whitney, Texas 76692.
