Norma Medill, 74, passed away Friday, Feb. 29, 2008, at her home in Leavenworth.Norma was born Oct. 15, 1933, in Horton, Kan., the daughter of Merrill F. Sr. and Lorraine Steele.
She was the loving mother of four children, Tabor and spouse Missy Medill of Lansing, Lorrie and spouse Larry Lawson of Missouri, Mike and Spouse Donna Medill of Oklahoma and Ric and spouse Rosie Medill of Texas; eight grandchildren, Tabe, Carah and Troy Medill, Lexxie Lawson, Cheryl (Medill) Flatt and Matthew Medill and Nate and Tyler Medill; and two great-grandchildren.
Also special in Norma’s life was her loving companion, Dan Zeck Sr.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Merrill Steele Jr. (LHS Class of 1949).
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2008, at the Davis Funeral Chapel.
Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at the funeral chapel. Burial will follow immediately in Camden Point, Mo.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be given to Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas, the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation or the Safe Harbor dog rescue program.
Just a short note to thank you for acknowledging the passing of my mother, Norma Medill. She often told me of the luncheons that she attended with some of the girls from her high school class. She always looked forward to them. I miss her terribly as she was not only my mother but my truest friend. Thank you once again for remembering her.
