Beverly Forpahl Dodson - LHS Class of 1955

Beverly Jean Dodson, 71 of Lansing, passed peacefully in her home on March 2nd, 2009 with her husband and children at her bedside. Beverly was born on July 8th, 1937 the daughter of Lawrence Forpahl and Dorothy B. Fanghor-Forpahl in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Beverly married Orval E. Morandy (LHS Class of 1955) on March 11, 1956 in Hernando, Mississippi.
on March 10th, 1956 in Hernando, MS. They share five children; Pamela J. Schmidt of Oskaloosa, IA; Laurie Linn Langston and her husband Dave of Mt. Juliet, TN; Donna M. Burge and her husband Kenneth, Jr. of Leavenworth: Janet K. Langley and her husband Steve of Chandler, AS; and Michael E. Morandy and his wife Theresa of Leavenworth.
Beverly shared the second part of her life with husband, Lowell J. Dodson, on June 22, 1984 in Tuscon, AZ. Lowell has three children Mike Dodson, Steve Dodson, and Becky Cowan.
She took pleasure in helping others. This was demonstrated in her career as a health care provider, and later, assisted others in their housekeeping needs.
Beverly especially loved Arizona, traveling to different places with her husband, Lowell and their dachshund, Tildy. They also had a special interest in observing lighthouses. Her hobbies included Southwest art, quilting, needlepoint, crocheting, gardening and cooking.
Beverly is survived by her husband, children, and fourteen grandchildren: John Elliott, Missy Foster, Erin Wallace, Jenna Langston, Kenneth Burge, III, Matthew Burge, Jake Langley, Sarah Langley, Nicole Morandy, Caleb Morandy, Lee Dodson, Nick Dodson, Brandon Cowan and Cassandra Cowen and five beautiful great grandchildren.
Memorials in her name may be directed to Sunflower Hospice or a charity of your choice.
A visitation with the family present will be from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Thursday March 5th, 2009 at Belden Larkin Funeral Home.
