Bonny Lynn Barnett, 75 of Leavenworth, passed away Thursday, October 8th, 2009 at a Kansas City, Kansas hospital after an extended illness.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, October 13th, 2009 at Belden Larkin Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary “Sam” Sanford officiating. Interment at Leavenworth National Cemetery will follow the service at 12:30 PM.
Visitation will be 1:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home with the family present from 6:00 PM Until 8:00 PM.
Bonny was born June 17th, 1934 in Leavenworth, Kansas the daughter of E. Reed and Mary (Gustin) Colter. She attended and graduated from Leavenworth High School.
She married Robert H. Barnett January 30th, 1955 in Tucumcari, New Mexico he preceded her in death on November 13th, 1999.
Bonny was a homemaker and a master gardener.
She was a founding member of the Club Fed Book Club, and a member of the Red Hats Society. She loved gardening, reading, crafts, cooking, traveling and spending time with her family.
She is survived by 3 sons: Gary of Leavenworth, R. Bruce (Brinda) of Lenexa, Kansas, and Brian of Leavenworth; 2 daughters: Robin Kern of Leavenworth and Marianne Suber of Collierville, TN.; 1 Brother: Richard Colter of Gore, Oklahoma; 9 Grandchildren: Jennifer (David) Larabee, Brandilynn Barnett, Angela (Andy) Breedlove, Jason Kern, Amanda Barnett, Hannah Suber, Sarah Suber, Dr. Valerie Rich, and Bill (Gina)Rich;8 Great Grandchildren: Ashton, Triston, Madison, Jacob, Mariska, Trent Robert, Ethan and Tyler.
She was preceded in death by; 1 brother: Jacob Colter, 2 sisters; Patricia Wright and Peggy Colter; and one grandchild Kristina Kern.
Memorials in her name may be directed to Hospice of Leavenworth or a Charity of your choice.
