Elizabeth J. (Betty) Brown, 78, Leavenworth, Kan., passed away Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010 at Country Care in Easton, Kan. Betty was born May 16, 1931, in Leavenworth, Kan., the daughter of Henry and Helen (Donley) Brown.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Grace Beursken (LHS Class of 1952), one half-sister, Helen Honeycutt, her nephew, Richard Honeycutt.
Betty graduated from Bethany Hospital School of Nursing, Kansas City, Kan., on Aug. 27, 1953.
Betty was a registered nurse, she worked for Cushing Memorial Hospital, Leavenworth, Colonial Manor, Lansing, and the Leavenworth County Infirmary until she retired.
Betty was a member and past president of Leavenworth Kennel Club, she enjoyed showing and breeding Collies, she was a past member of Lansing Unified School Board, Lansing, Kan., and the planning board rural H2O 3, and she was a clerk for the Delaware Township.
Betty will be missed by those who loved and knew her.
Burial was in the Mount Muncie Cemetery, Lansing, Kan.
