Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 26th, 2011 at Belden Larkin Funeral Home with the Rev. Glen Matrey of Kansas City, Missouri officiating.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 25th, 2011 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM with the family present from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Burial with Military Graveside services will be at Mount Muncie Cemetery.
Benny was born October 30th, 1929 in Leavenworth, Kansas the son of William Clifford and Alma (Rinz) Hartley.
He joined and served in the United States Army and served in the Korean War.
He married Patricia E. Stephensen (LHS Class of 1952) in 1952.
Benny worked at the Army Munson Hospital as the Supply Supervisor retiring in 1999. He also worked at the VA Center as a Nurses Aide and Goodjohn's Millwood.
He is survived by his friend and former wife Patricia, three daughters; Kandy Fraijo, of Leavenworth, Robin Miller and her husband Mark of Topeka, and Sindy Schultz and her husband Larry, of Fruitland Park, Florida, ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren, two brothers; William Hartley of Leavenworth, KS and Richard Hartley of Alabama.
He was preceded in death by a son Terry, two infant daughters, and one brother James Hartley.
Memorials in his name may be directed to the American Cancer Society of Leavenworth or the Alzheimer's Association.
