Francis (Frank) H. Alexander, Jr, 75, Leavenworth, KS passed away Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Golden Living Center, Lansing, KS. He was born December 23, 1938 in Leavenworth, KS the son of Francis H. Alexander Sr. and Mary Leota (Cannon) Alexander.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, the former Eunice Eichhorn (LHS Class of 1958), daughter Shari Kowalewski (Chris) and sons Charles Alexander (Melissa) and Robert Alexander (Anita); grandchildren: Tiffany Parker (Justin), Nicklas Parker (Jessica), Joanna Fry (Jake), Saundra Alexander, Amanda, Heather Alexander, A1C Amber Alexander, U S Air Force, Joshua Alexander, and great-grandchildren: Mila Snedegar, Alyssa Parker and Adrianna Coffee; brother, James Alexander (LHS Class of 1958) and his wife, the former Mavis Boles (LHS Class of 1953); sister, Mary Lee Flanagan (LHS Class of 1967), and his fuzzy baby Mindi.
Frank and his family owned and operated Leavenworth Glass and Mirror Company, serving the community for over 40 years. He enjoyed the International Officer Program through CGSC for 50 years, traveling to visit several former students. He established many lifelong friendships through his business and the international program.
Frank lived a full life and he "did it his way".
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM on Monday, July 21, 2014 at the Davis Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will be held 10 AM Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at the funeral chapel. Chaplain Sam Sanford will officiate. Burial will follow in the mausoleum in Mount Muncie Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to the Hope Inc.- Low Cost Spay & Neuter Clinic or The Heritage Center.
