The Les Novelettes Club crowned Miss Rozella Rogers as their Mardi Gras queen at the costume ball held Saturday night, March 1, 1952 at the City Hall auditorium.
Miss Rogers was chosen from a group of five contestants from Leavenworth Senior High School who solicited votes throughout the city. The funds raised will go to make up the annual scholarship fund for the Negro student who has the highest scholastic rating throughout four years in high school. The queen's attendants were Mary Holmes ('52), Margie Burton ('52), Grace Evelyn Bragg ('53) and Celeste Colby ('52).
