Bob, as his friends and family lovingly called him, graduated from Lansing High School and went on to serve in the Army until 1959 when upon the death of his father, he was given a hardship discharge in order for him to return home to care for his mother.
On Nov. 22, 1960, he married Lenora Ann Cardwell in Oklahoma. She survives at the home. Bob is also survived by a daughter, Terrie (Dennis) Wacker, two grandsons, Jason (Robin) Wacker and Christopher (Ashley) Wacker; three great grandchildren, Joshua Wacker, Lillianna Wacker and Zoie Wacker; a sister, Dorothy (Wesley) Jackson; and many nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his father Henry “Hank” Trimble and his mother Dorothy “Pearl” Trimble.
Bob owned and operated “Bob Trimble Construction Company” in Lansing for over 28 years then moved to Nemo, Mo., in 1988 where he and his wife owned and operated Nemo Bridge Resort for 14 years. They returned to Lansing in 2006.
Bob loved fishing and hunting. He also had a great love of music and enjoyed singing and writing songs. He played the drums in high school and while he served in the Army.
Bob loved his family unconditionally and they were only second to his love for his Lord and Savior. Bob served his church family at Calvary Baptist Church as a Trustee, a Deacon, and general handyman.
Bob had a huge heart and capacity to love and forgive others. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends but they rejoice in the knowledge that he is healed and again singing for his Lord.
Visitation with the family will be on Friday Sept. 2, 2016, at 11:30 a.m. followed by funeral services at 12:30 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 4451 10th Ave. Leavenworth, Kan. Arrangements by R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Calvary Baptist Church Memorial Fund.
