Buzz Dolsberry - LHS Class of 1951

As the first installment of this monthly series on the Oro Valley Visual Arts premiers, I wanted to feature a very special Oro Valley Artist: C.E. “Buzz” Dolsberry. Buzz in not only a fine painter, but an exceptional person; a distinguished artist and a unique Oro Valley citizen.
Oro Valley’s Art Community is richer because he has set the standard for citizenship. Buzz, with a twinkle in his eye will give you his time, talent, and make you feel like you’ve know him for years. He has been an integral part of the Oro Valley art scene for over 21 years and is a founding member of the Fine Arts of Sun City organization in Rancho Vistoso.
Buzz
Buzz is a member of the Oil Painters of America, Southwest League of Fine Arts, Southern Arizona Watercolor Guild, the Tubac Center for the Arts, Plein Air Artists of Tucson, Carnegie Art Center, Parkville Fine Arts Association, and Kansas Art Institute. During the last 30 years, Buzz has won awards in eight different states and was the recipient of the Master’s Mead Award in the 2002 Festival of Arts Show in Tubac, Arizona. He studied in Provence, France and under many nationally known artists in the United States.
In 1998 Buzz was elected co-President of the Desert Artisans’ Gallery, and served as vice-president in 1990-2000. He was also served on the Board of Directors of the Southwestern League of Fine Art and on the Oro Valley Arts and Music Festival Advisory Committee.
His art work was featured in Arizona Life Style in 1998, and in 1999 his painting, End of the Line, was chosen for the cover of the Oro Valley Arts and Music Festival official program. Buzz’s paintings hang in collections throughout the United States and in Mexico, Italy, Greece, Canada, Japan, France, Australia, and China.
Buzz’s works can be seen at his up and coming shows: The Tubac Center for the Arts, November 14, 2016 and The Fine Art Club of Sun City Show on December 5, 2016. Buzz Dolsberry is in a class by himself, and owning a Buzz Dolsberry painting is like buying gold at $50 an ounce. He resides in Rancho Vistoso Sun City.
