James D. Mulvaney Sr., 76, passed away November 8, 2016 at Health Park Hospital in Fort Myers, Florida.
Jim was born in Oskaloosa, Kansas on October 11, 1940. He graduated high school in Winchester, Kansas in 1958. Jim Mulvaney was a long time resident of Leavenworth, Kansas who was dedicated to his community. He was a Fireman and Snorkel truck driver in the early 70’s for the Leavenworth Fire Department; Jim was the fourth most successful Duraclean dealer in the world two times, once in 1978 and once in 1980. He was a prominent business owner in Leavenworth, Kansas as owner/operator of, “Duraclean, Action Steam Cleaning, The Decorating Center and Wholesale Carpets.”
Jim married Sharon J. Polk in 1959 and the two have enjoyed a loving marriage for 57 years. Jim is survived by his loving wife Sharon, son James Mulvaney Jr. and partner Kelly Wiseman-Chancellor, daughter Tracie Mulvaney, granddaughter Alix Cox with husband and grandson-in-law Charles Cox, granddaughter Jessica Abernathy with husband and grandson-in-law Dennis Abernathy, great-granddaughter Charlotte Cox, sisters Patricia Bowar, Mary Stalder and brother John Mulvaney.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents Ethel and Elmer Mulvaney, brothers Charles and Roy Mulvaney.
Jim Mulvaney was a loving husband, son, father, grandfather and brother. He is loved by many and will be dearly missed.
A service will be held at the C.W. Parker Carousel Museum located at 320 S. Esplanade St, Leavenworth Kansas on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 5 p.m. A celebration of life for family and friends will follow from 5:30 – 8 p.m.
