Herb Krueger
Herbert A. Krueger, 88, passed away peacefully January 11, 2017. Herbert was born November 11, 1928 to Adolph G. and Caroline Wahler Krueger. On March 10, 1929 Herb was baptized at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Leavenworth. Confirmed on March 29, 1942 and remained a member there until his passing. Herbert was joined in marriage to Lois J. Hoppe (LHS Class of 1950) on September 30, 1950. They celebrated 58 years together before Lois’s passing in 2009. From their union were born two daughters; Debra (Gary) Bailey and Judith (Charlie) Klingler. They were blessed with three granddaughters, 1 grandson, 2 great-granddaughters and 1 great- grandson. Herbert was in the Army and served in the Korean Conflict. Beside his interest in hunting and fishing, he loved playing baseball. While working for Wikelski Service Station, he developed his talent of auto repair. He later became the owner of that business and it was named Herb’s Standard. Herb is preceded in death by 3 sisters and 2 brothers and survived by one brother, Charles Krueger. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church. Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at St. Paul Lutheran Church with funeral service to follow at 11:00 A.M. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery. Lois J. Krueger, 76, of rural Leavenworth, who was born June 21, 1932 passed away Sunday, March 1, 2009.
