Alfred Edwin Kruse, 89, passed away Saturday, May 23, 2020 at the Cameron VA Center, Cameron, Missouri.
Alfred was born February 19, 1931 to Alfred Herman Fredric Kruse and Edna Marie Tempe-Kruse. He attended St. John Lutheran Church for most of his life and graduated from Potter Kansas High School in 1949. Following high school he served four years in the United States Air Force where he was stationed in Puerto Rico. He retired as a fire fighter after 20 years at Fort Leavenworth.
Alfred married Elsie Pearl Cropper in 1956 and they had 4 children, Virtus Kruse of Mena, Arkansas, Wanda Smith (Bill) of Ashflats, Arkansas, Mark Kruse (Jill) of Platte City, Missouri and Teresa Craig of Edwardsville, Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother and sister.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM Thursday, May 28, 2020 at the Davis Funeral Chapel, Leavenworth, Kansas. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, the immediate family will have a private funeral service. Graveside service and burial will be held Friday, May 29, 2020 at 11:15 AM at the Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery, Leavenworth, Kansas. Friends and family are invited to attend.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the St. John Lutheran Church in Easton, Kansas.
