Hank McEvoy - LHS Class of 1950

Henry Joseph (Hank) McEvoy, Jr., 82, Leavenworth, Kan., passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at his home. He was born November 27, 1930 the son of Henry J. McEvoy and Emmajean Burke McEvoy. On June 6, 1957 he married Frances C. "Frankie" Colmar. She preceded him in death on October 19, 2000.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, Henry J. and Emmajean McEvoy.
He is survived by two sons, Thomas H. McEvoy (Tammy) Emporia, Kan. and Fr. William J. McEvoy, Lansing, Kan., grandchildren, Kaitlin and Brett McEvoy, Emporia, Kan., and one sister, Jean Marie McEvoy (LHS Class of 1955), Leavenworth, Kan .
He went to Immaculate Conception Grade School, graduated from Leavenworth High School.
He served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army, he worked for the Command and General Staff College retiring as a audio visual Technician.
Life long member of the Immaculate Conception Church, former member of the Elk's, Eagles and the Knight's of Columbus. He was an avid Chief's fan. He enjoyed work with and coaching young people in sports and youth activates.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday, September 22, 2013 at the Immaculate Conception Church, 5th and Kiowa St., Leavenworth, Kan.
There will be a Prayer service held at 6 p.m., Sunday at the Church.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m., Monday, September 23, 2013 at Immaculate Conception Church. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
