Brock Schalipp - LHS Class of 1952

Brock E. Schalipp Jr., 83, of Leavenworth, passed away, Saturday, April 14, 2018, at St. John Hospital, with his family by his side. He was born May 19, 1934, in Leavenworth, the son of Brock and Alta (Eichorn) Schalipp Sr.
Brock graduated from Leavenworth High School in 1952. He always said his parents were very good to him.
On August 20, 1955, Brock married Virginia Forbach (LHS Class of 1955). She survives at the home. He is also survived by his children, Cheryl (Paul Giddens) Schalipp, Brock (Linda) Schalipp III and Robin (Chuck) Wagner. 
He was preceded in death by his parents and his mother and father-in-law.
Brock enjoyed motorcycles. He and his wife along with friends took several trips to Colorado and South Dakota. When his son was motocross racing they would spend hours together maintaining his bikes. He would ride every weekend with his children and their spouses.
Brock was a residential painter but even when his wife wanted a flag and stars painted on the floor his only reply was “go pick out the paint.“
His legacy was not one of fame or fortune but being a wonderful, caring and giving husband and father.
