Floyd Eberth - Basehor HS Class of 1949

Floyd Allen Eberth, 87, of Basehor, Kan., died April 4, 2018 at Bridge Haven Memory Care Residence in Lawrence, Kan.
Floyd was born February 20, 1931, in Basehor, to Edward Gustav and Margaret Emma (Norden)  Eberth. He attended Basehor schools, graduating from Basehor High School in 1949. After high school, he worked on the family farm as a dairy farmer, selling his milk to the Meyer Dairy in Basehor. On Dec. 9, 1962, Floyd married Cora Riddle. They raised two daughters, Kareen and Lorna, on the family farm. The farm has been in the Eberth family for more than 100 years, recognized as a Century Farm by Farm Bureau.
Floyd was a member of the Ayrshire Association, served as the Leavenworth County Dairy Superintendent and served on the Leavenworth County Fair Board for 30 years. He was a Farm Bureau Board Member and was a member of the Antique Caterpillar Machinery Owners Club. He was also a member of the St. Martin Lutheran Church. Floyd embraced farm life and truly loved tending his crops, putting up hay, caring for his cattle, and spending time in his pastures and fields. He also loved to read, go to auctions and farm shows and spend time with his family and friends,
Floyd was preceded in death by his wife, Cora, in 2004, his sister, Charlotte, and brothers Edward, Barney, Bob and Paul. He is survived by daughters Kareen (Chris) Vaught, and Lorna (Robert) Davis; granddaughter Corianne (Jesse) Davis, and grandsons Clint Vaught, Garrett Davis and Wyatt Davis, along with numerous nieces and nephews and many lifelong friends.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 12, at the Davis Funeral Home in Leavenworth. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, April 13, at the Davis Funeral Chapel, with burial immediately following at the Glenwood Cemetery in Basehor.
Memorial donations may be made to the Basehor Historical Society or the Fairmount Township Fire Department.
