Twyla Sue Walker Lauber, 77, went to join her beloved husband Joe (LHS Class of 1955) on April 29. She leaves behind three siblings, Donna, Marilyn and Lynn along with numerous nieces and nephews, her children Stephen, Richard (Connie) and Linda, three grandchildren and one great grandchild. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 12, 2018 at the Eagles Aerie 55, 300 S. 20th, Leavenworth, Kansas from noon until 2 p.m.

Joseph L. “Joe” Lauber Jr., 71, of Leavenworth, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008, at Shawnee Mission Medical Center, Merriam, Kan.
Joe was born Dec. 25, 1936, in Leavenworth, the son of Joseph L. and Josephine R. (Sczcygiel) Lauber Sr.
On Sept. 26, 1964, he married Twyla Sue Walker.
Joe is survived by his wife, Twyla Sue Lauber of Leavenworth; his daughters, Linda S. Lauber of Grand Junction, Colo., and Delores Nararro of La Grange, Ky.; his sons, Rick A. Lauber of Grand Junction, Colo., and Steve D. Lauber of Leavenworth; and his grandchildren, Kassandra Lauber, Jennifer Lauber and Kirk Lauber.
Joe served in the United States Navy. He worked as a welder for Missouri Valley Steele and as a mechanic for various auto dealerships in Leavenworth. He was also a truck driver.
Joe was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 55 and worked many years on the Veterans Day parade committee.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m Thursday, Dec. 11, 2008, at the Davis Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m Friday, Dec. 12, 2008, at the funeral chapel.
Burial will follow in the Leavenworth National Cemetery.
The family suggest memorial contributions be given to the American Cancer Society.
