Lula F. Dillon, 81, of Lansing passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at the Medicalodges of Leavenworth.
Lula was born on December 24, 1937 in Leavenworth to Roy E. and Velma I. (Derry) Sparks. She enjoyed reading, sewing. Volunteered at the Leavenworth Public Library, in the Kansas room assisting customers with their genealogy issues. She also loved to volunteer at the Council of Aging, assisting where needed. Lula was married in 1960 to William Dillon in Miami OK. From this union they had two children, William Dillon Jr. and Penloop (Penny) Dillon. Lula worked for a number of years at Hallmark Cards as a machine operator, where she retired in 1993.
She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse William and daughter Penny. She is survived by her son, William (Denise) Dillon Jr, of Lansing KS, two grandchildren, Allison (Jared) Rogers and William Ryan Dillon, both of Manhattan KS. Sister, Violet M. St. Clair, Breckenridge MO, and three brothers, Russell Sparks, Cameron MO, Roy E. Sparks Jr, Leavenworth KS, and David I. (Linda) Sparks, Leavenworth KS. Numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, April 19, 2019 at Belden Larkin Funeral Home at 10:00 am to 11:00 am. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 am in the chapel with Pastor Cape Rust, officiating. Inurnment will be at Sunset Memory Gardens. Memorials in her name may be directed to Leavenworth Public library or the Council on Aging.
