He was born Dec. 27, 1935 in Leavenworth, the son of Joseph W. and Marybelle Klein Kowalewski. On March 19, 1955, he married Donna J. Spindler in Hiawatha, Kan. She survives at the home.
He was a farmer, he was retired. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Other survivors include: Two sons, Craig A. Kowalewski and Scott W. Kowalewski, both of Leavenworth; one brother, Joseph A. Kowalewski (LHS Class of 1952), Clinton, Tennessee; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
No services are planned. There will be a memorial service held in the spring. Davis Funeral Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.
