Naomi Anne "Nayse" Pearsley, age 69, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2003 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion, Illinois.
She was born March 21, 1934, in Leavenworth, Kansas, to Kenneth Sterett and Noami Dusay Sterett. She married James Pearsley on April 25, 1953, in Leavenworth.
Nayse was a homemaker and a member of Crab Orchard Golf Club and St. Paul Episcopal Church in Leavenworth. She loved to play golf.
Survivors include her husband of Herrin, Illinois; a daughter, Jane Dorr of Marion; and a son, John David Pearsley of Herrin; one nephew, Sterett Ward Schanze of St. Joseph, Missouri; and one sister, Pat Sterett Schanze (LHS Class of 1954) of Leavenworth, two grandsons, Cody Dorris of Marion and James E. Pearsley III of Herrin; and two stepgrandchildren, Gena Fisher and Lee Arthur Fisher, both of Herrin. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, James "Jay" Pearsley II, and a son-in-law, William E. Dorris.
Funeral services were held Friday, August 16, 2003, in Van Natta Funeral Home, with the Rev. Don Colson officiating. Burial was in the Herrin City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
