Homer's Drive In

Homer's Drive In, which has been in business in Leavenworth since 1931, was one of 24 finalists for the "8 WONDERS OF KANSAS CUISINE"!!

A fast food memory: Homer's on the corner just before Abeles Field and its rootbeer in frosted mugs. Take that McDonald's! Every so often I need a rootbeer fix. I keep a mug for frosting. It's no good in a glass.

Restaurant review August, 2008
"Some in our group were hungry as they had no breakfast before leaving home. There is a small restaurant on Highway 7 in Leavenworth called Homer’s. I’d wanted to try it out for some time because I had a good friend named Homer who died in 2005. We stopped for a quick breakfast. The food was ok but smoking was allowed and numerous diners were doing just that. Unless you like to smoke or you love second hand smoke I would not recommend this restaurant."

  1. What a fantastic photo of a true Leavenworth Landmark....Unbelievable memories from the days when "Mac" ruled!
You talk about 'running a tight ship'!! Just ask anyone who ever worked for him!
