Cyrena Pierron Overfelt - LHS Class of 1951

Cyrena Irene Overfelt, age 77, of Wyandotte, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at the St. Johns Medical Center in Joplin, Missouri.
She was born on May 20, 1933 in Leavenworth, Kansas to Joseph Pierron and Clara McEvoy Pierron. Mrs. Overfelt had retired to the Grand Lake area in 1993 from Kansas City, Kansas. She was a Catholic and worked at the Drivers License Exam Office in Kansas City where she retired.
She also was a lifetime member of Topps in Seneca, Missouri and the Eagles of Leavenworth. She was a graduate of the Leavenworth High School.
Cyrena was married to Darrell Wayne Overfelt on June 3, 1951 and he preceded her in death on May 7, 2007.
Survivors include three daughters; Nona Marie Spence and husband Dale of Webb City, Sandra Jo Wade and husband Roger of Joplin and Marchell Lynn Sneed of Liberty; a sister, Jo Ann Meyer of Buckner; seven grandchildren, Mike Collette, Scott Spence, Rheana Macios, Michelle Wade, Angie Enloe, Dee Enloe and Whitnie Thompson, and 13 great-grandchildren.
Additional survivors include a special companion Robert Willis of Wyandotte and a long close friend Earline Spence of Carterville for over 40 years and her favorite pet dog Ally.
Mrs. Overfelt was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Jennifer Kay Sneed and her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Saturday at the Simpson Funeral Home of Webb City with Rev. Fred Royer officiating.
Burial will follow at the Carterville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 – 7 PM Friday at the Simpson Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Roger Wade, Dale Spence, Scott Spence, Mike Collette, Stuart Macios and Brett Thompson.
In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests memorials to the Carterville Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
