Legendary TV host Art Linkletter, who perfected the art of asking people questions and having them respond with absurd answers, died at home today at the age of 97. The host of People Are Funny and House Party was loved by millions of Americans even if, as the New York Times puts it, "television critics and intellectuals found the Linkletter persona bland and his popularity unfathomable."
